"Paperflower" Two-colour Brioche Stitch Scarf

The idea for this scarf came from my daughter who hand dyed the pink variegated yarn and asked me to knit a scarf for her. She chose the red background colour and so the "Paperflower Scarf" came to be.

The paperflower is the name given to the pink or red bracts around the bougainvillea flower and which I think is similar to the patterning on this scarf.

I decided on a two-colour brioche stitch pattern with a selvedge edge which creates a neat effect.

The reverse is not identical because the left and right slanting decreases used are not reversible.

In this photo I hope you can see that there is a leaf pattern on the reverse but it is different to the front.

The pattern is available to buy on craftsy: Paperflower scarf pattern

The techniques used are relatively simple. I have made a series of youtube videos covering the techniques used in this pattern.

  1. Please refer to email I have just sent: this pattern has errors in Row 39, and they would aggregate from there.

    1. Hi Margaret, sorry you're having trouble. Will look at it first thing in the morning and get back to you. I've sold quite a few copies and you are the first person to let me know.
